11.11/ eleven eleven showcased a sustainable collection of suits, drapes, and wearable separates at Lakmé Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India in New Delhi. The brand also designed a print for the event’s reusable PET water bottle.

“It is an honour to take our commitment towards sustainability a step forward by collaborating with Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI,” said 11.11/ eleven eleven in a press release. “Mastery in design, accompanied by purity in practice and product, that nurtures environment and people, have always been the core pursuit of our brand. We are thrilled to have our designs enable Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI to enhance its sustainability efforts. We hope this initiative encourages attendees to be more conscious of their consumption of single-use plastics and helps them make greener choices.”

The fashion show featured blues and whites with a mix of more tailored blazers and more relaxed, fluid draped ensembles. Sweatshirts added a hint of loungewear and textured weaves were put front and centre.

Along with its runway show, the brand also designed an exclusive print to feature on the reusable water bottles which were given to the entire team and stakeholders working on the event. By distributing reusable bottles, Lakmé, the FDCI, and Reliance Brands aimed to prevent water wastage and tackle the use of single-use plastic.

“At Lakmé, we have always been committed to sustainable practices in line with Unilever’s Positive Beauty vision,” said Hindustan Unilever Limited’s vice president of skincare and colour cosmetics Harman Dhillon. “It is our ambition to enable all stakeholders, audiences collaborating, attending the platform to be able to do their part in ensuring a cleaner, greener future. This collaboration with 11.11 / eleven eleven is a step in the direction to make sustainability practices more mainstream, real, and accessible.”

“We want to drive the fashion industry and community to a point where sustainable practices are not a choice but the norm,” said FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi. “Collaborating with 11.11 / eleven eleven is a step in that direction. We are thrilled to have them bring their unique design perspective to the fore and are looking forward to many such collaborations together.”

Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI ran from October 11 to 15 at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The fashion week mixed runway shows with a business-to-customer fashion fair, design contests, and student showcases, and fashion shows were also live-streamed on social media to enable the public to watch.
