Bangladesh has registered 11.26 per cent growth in apparel exports to European Union (EU) in January-February 2023.
This is as per media reports, which cited data from Eurostat, which is the statistical office of the EU, as per which, apparel imports of the EU from Bangladesh in the first two months of 2023 increased to € 3.29 billion from that what was of € 2.96 billion in the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Managing Director of Sparrow Group, Shovon Islam, reportedly underlined work orders remained somewhat on the lower side in the past few months on account of sluggish demand for apparel on the global market even as high inflation, increased rate of interest and tightened policy for loans have been mainly responsible for the demand of RMG products declining in the western countries.
