Heigo, the Dutch uniform manufacturer, supplier and distributor of workwear, industrial clothing, work footwear and personal protective equipment works with top companies nationwide to provide work and industrial clothing apparel for more than 25,000 wearers. The company began using Bodidata’s solution in 2022 to enhance the efficiency of its fitting sessions and provide a better experience for its customers and their wearers.
-Over 3000 wearers scanned with Kora V3
-15x faster than traditional fitting
-Over 90% accuracy on recommendations
Challenge:
Prior to implementing Bodidata’s Measure.Match.Manage™ solution, Heigo was using traditional processes for their fitting sessions with their partner companies. Entire fit lines, including all available size ranges, were sent to locations across the Netherlands for wearers to try on each item of clothing, and accessories, for their uniform requirements. These fit sessions took place over long hours, across multiple weeks, and required large facilities to ensure proper privacy and space for wearers to try on multiple styles and sizes of uniforms. This process, on average, took 30 minutes per person to complete. It also required meeting with the alterations team to understand the additional required tailoring that would be needed once the wearers received their uniforms.
“Our old processes were very labour intensive,” recalled Harold Zoet, Head of Logistics at Heigo. “We required a large team from Heigo to attend the fit sessions so they could address any concerns wearers had and help with size fitting processes. Our fit experts had to guide wearers around the appropriate size and fit of clothing and manage their expectations around comfort and fit for their job. It was inefficient and required a lot of time and resources from Heigo and we felt that wearers were never fully satisfied. We received many returned garments after clothing was shipped and requests for different sizes.”
Heigo wanted to improve the experience for its wearers, eliminate redundancies, increase wearer satisfaction, and reduce the enormous costs associated with fitting sessions, uniform returns, and exchanges.
Solution:
Heigo chose Bodidata’s Measure.Match.Manage solution because they wanted a technology partner who would work closely with their team, understand the variety and complexity of their garments, and be hands-on and able to train team members on the new processes and technology. Heigo wanted a solution that delivered the highest size-matching accuracy results, so they could reduce costs and apparel returns, and maintain uniform fit standards.
“Bodidata has been an excellent partner,” said Zoet. “They are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to fit guidelines and specs, and were very detailed with questions and inquiries during the set-up process. They made what seemed like an arduous task painless and have been supportive and helpful.”
Results:
Bodidata’s Kora 3D Body Scanner has become integral to Heigo’s business, helping increase throughput and saving tremendous amounts of money by avoiding unnecessary alterations and wearer returns. Heigo’s uniform customers are highly satisfied with the speed and duration of fit sessions, and wearers have expressed feeling more comfortable in their uniforms and are happier with the shorter more efficient process.
Ease of use with Kora 3D Body Scanner
Bodidata’s Kora scanner attaches to an iPad Pro and scans the wearer’s body surface beneath their everyday clothing to match them to the best size option based on their unique measurements. Bodidata’s Partner Portal displays the recommended size option, and Heigo can easily share size recommendations with the wearer and explain how the ready-to-wear uniform will fit their unique body.
“Bodidata’s train-the-trainer model really helped guide us on how to use Kora effectively. It’s made scanning individuals really easy”, said Radostina Baleva, Quality Manager at Heigo. “Wearers don’t need to change their garments when we do the scan, and they no longer need to try on countless items of clothing. This has made the fit experience faster and less disruptive.”
Above 90% accuracy with size recommendations
Heigo no longer sends its entire fit lines for fitting sessions. They recognize and have seen time and time again that data from Bodidata’s Kora scans are highly accurate, and sending clothing items for fitting sessions is no longer necessary.
“We see greater than 90% fit accuracy with Bodidata’s Measure.Match.Manage solution, which has far exceeded our expectations. This is a significant improvement over our own size recommendations results and we would not have been able to achieve this on our own.” said Zoet.
Thousands of happy wearers
At the end of the day, Heigo recognizes the importance of wearers feeling confident in their uniforms. There has been an uptick in wearer satisfaction throughout the fit experience, from no longer needing to try on multiple sizes to a faster overall experience with uniform fittings.
“Our customers have shared how much happier wearers are with the fit of their garments. It’s also significantly reduced the time required for fit sessions, from 30 min per person down to 5 minutes. This has made the fitting experience, and the size determination experiences much more comfortable for wearers.” said Zoet. “Bodidata’s technology has become part of our standard process with all our customers and an essential part of our uniform programs. We now have prospective customers asking us if we use size-matching technology as they understand the business value. It’s hard to imagine how we used to do this, and I can’t imagine doing it that way ever again.
