Coimbatore, India – KG Linens is expanding into a wide array of products and services to support the “Able Together” campaign it introduced last year.

The comprehensive program covers raw materials, sustainable manufacturing practices and mitigating environmental impacts at a product’s end of life.

KG has introduced a recycled polyester from both landfill and ocean-bound plastics. The manufacturer now has an installed capacity of 520 tons per month to produce recycled plastic from flakes to finished product. The company has been recognized as an authorized manufacturer under India’s PLI program, which focuses on expanding the country’s output of manmade fiber products and technical textiles.

The company has introduced GRS-certified and traceable linens made of recycled PET under the Green Fine Linen and Blue Linens brands.

KG uses 100% green energy from its power plant, which is fueled primarily by agricultural waste and reduces the company’s carbon footprint. In addition, the manufacturer uses salt-free dyeing and zero-discharge processes to lower its environmental impact.

With end-of-life improvements in view, the company is also using biodegradable materials include PLA, Bio D poly and Tencel lyocell.

KG Linens will introduce new produces reflecting these practices in January 2023 at the Heimtextil international home textiles expo in Germany.
