Skogsudden, Sweden – Swedish fashion house Filippa K will be the first brand to premiere the a blended recycled fiber in collaboration with OnceMore and Tencel.
OnceMore is a process engineered to recycle a blend of poly and cotton at an industrial scale. It was developed by Södra, the largest forest owner association in Sweden, which has 51,000 family forest owners among its members.
The Filippa K apparel line for spring/summer 2024 will incorporate Tencel’s Refibra technology, which is made of upcycled cotton scraps from pre- and post-consumer waste and Lenzing lyocell fibers from wood pulp.
“This collaboration with Filippa K, Lenzing and Södra marks a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and demonstrates how companies from different backgrounds can work together to create a more circular future,” said José Alexandre Oliveira, chairman of Riopele, the Portuguese textile manufacturer producing the yarn and fabric for the collection.
