Surya + Southern California designer = 23 new rug designs

CARTERSVILE, Ga. – Surya has launched eight new rug collections with Southern California-based designer Becki Owens.

The collections include 23 designs that features Owen’s signature clean, livable and curated aesthetic, according to the company.

“I’ve always been passionate about rugs. I believe they can totally transform a space,” said Owens. “I was thrilled with the opportunity to work with Surya. When designing this collection, I thought about what I wanted to use in my projects and what my clients would love in their homes.”

The new line consists mostly of versatile vintage-inspired rugs that are reminiscent of antique hand-knotted one-of-a-kinds. An innovative machine-woven construction mimics the look and feel of hand-knotted rugs, making these rugs soft, durable and easy to care for, according to the company. But they are available at a more accessible price point.

“I’m very proud of this collection,” Owens added. “The rugs are on trend, yet they have timeless appeal. I believe they will fit well into anyone’s home, adding a layer of warmth and comfort.”

The hand-woven Calla collection, made from 100% jute, includes two solid neutral designs that work well on their own or for layering under other rugs from the line. All designs are ready to ship and available in a variety of sizes, including runners and oversized options up to 12’x15’.

“We have truly enjoyed working with Becki,” said Satya Tiwari, Surya president. “She brings a fresh and unique design perspective that really resonates with consumers today who are looking for stylish high-quality rugs that add character to their space, without the hefty price tag.”

Tiwari said the new collections are designed to complement a variety of lifestyles and interiors. “This is just the beginning of a lasting design partnership. We are already in final stages of production for more exciting new collections to be launched in the spring.”
