Finishing or 'Zero-Zero' finishing is one of the essential processes of a processing mill where all bleached, dyed and printed material are subjected before they are put on the market. The aim of the textile finishing is to render textile goods fit for their end uses.
Purpose: During spinning, weaving, bleaching, dyeing and the various finishing processes, yarns and cloth are under a continuous tension. The purpose of the process is to shrink fabrics in such a way that textiles made up of these fabrics do not shrink during washing.
-This process controls compressive shrinkage, also knows it as SANFORIZATION.
-It's purely a mechanical treatment without any addition of chemicals.
-The amount of potential wash shrinkage must be determined prior to shrinking.
-A full width sample is wash-tested according to the test method before going for bulk.
Aim Achieved:
-Improves appearance – Lustre, Whiteness etc.,
-Improves feel depending upon the handle of the fabric and its Softness, Suppleness, Fullness etc.,
-Improves the wearing qualities – Non soiling, Anti-crease.
-Gives special properties required for particular uses - Water proofing, Flame proofing etc.,
-Covers minor faults of the original cloth.
-Increases the weight of the fabric.
-Increases the sale value of the material.
-Improves the natural attractiveness of the fabric.
-Improves the serviceability of the fabric.
